Niamh was 13 years old she loved racing. But her friends never believed she could race because she was a girl. So Niamh trained every day for the next 4 months. Finally she got into her first race ever. She was speeding down the track. She was in first place. Suddenly a loud crash occurred. Niamh had lost control and crashed. Niamh sat there for 6 minutes and realized this was her dream and she was not going to let that slip away. So her helmet was back on her head and she reversed and off she went speeding up to first place. Nothing could stop her now. The crowd went wild for Niamh. She was on the final lap. Niamh was still ahead and she has almost done it and Niamh does it. She has one her first race. The crowd went wild. Niamh goes home with a smile today.
--- North Clondalkin Library, NCL, invited the pupils of St Bernadette's SNS to submit their original short stories to be uploaded to our Short Edition Dispenser unit. Our aim is to encourage our younger library users and budding authors to keep writing their stories and to show them that anyone can be a published author.
